At Newcomb-Tulane College, we value strong minded, driven, and passionate student leaders and empower them through various academically-focused student leadership opportunities.
The TIDES Peer Mentors work directly with first-year students in their assigned TIDES course. The Peer Mentors welcome incoming first-year students to the Tulane academic community during their first TIDES class. Throughout the semester, Peer Mentors guide first-year students on their academic journey and deliver content on academic success and resources and Tulane campus culture. Peer mentors have a sophisticated knowledge of the university and are committed to the success of first-year students.
TUlinked is a program that connects first-year students with upperclass mentors. TUlinked connects students based on common interests, in hopes of being a resource that helps first-year students get involved on campus. TUlinked began in 2016 matching over 60 first-year students with 60 upperclassmen, and will continue to grow in the coming years.
NTC Student Interns are the support system for all Newcomb-Tulane College programming, including TIDES, Residential Faculty Mentors, First-Year Experience and Sophomore Year Experience. Interns design and staff programs, assist with research projects, and keep us up-to-date on social media!
