B.S. in Elementary Education, University of Central Florida
Tara grew up in Sarasota, Florida and received a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with an English as Second Language and Reading endorsement through the University of Central Florida in Orlando. After receiving her degree, she taught English in Spain for two years through the North American Language and Culture Assistants in Spain Program. She spent one year teaching middle and high school students English in a small pueblo called Villarrobledo and the second year teaching elementary school in Madrid. During her time abroad, Tara also worked on her personal language goals to become conversationally fluent in Spanish and traveled throughout Europe learning about how different cultures live. In 2012, she moved to New Orleans to be closer to her brothers, one a Tulanian, who convinced her New Orleans was the place to live. She has spent the past five years in New Orleans working as an educator in elementary and middle schools, both private and charter.
She specializes in working with students with different learning styles and teaching English as a Second Language. She believes in the infinite possibilities and exciting opportunities Tulane students have to take advantage while studying at the university. Tara loves helping students set and achieve, personal and academic goals, to grow into their best self. She believes in students taking small steps to create big change. Tara loves working with students to help them explore and unlock a stronger sense of self and purpose while creating a roadmap that leads to self-autonomy.
