Residential Faculty Mentors

Tulane residential faculty mentors

The Residential Faculty Mentor (RFM) Program partners Tulane professors with first-year residence halls to encourage students to connect with their professor outside of the classroom, and ease the transition to life as a college student. The relationships students form with their RFM’s reach beyond the classroom and enrich their life academically, culturally, and socially.

The RFM Program is partner project of Tulane’s Housing & Residence Life (link) and Newcomb-Tulane College (link to Undergraduate Academic Programs main page).

RFM’s host “lobby hours” and community programming to foster intellectual community and facilitate learning and holistic growth within the residence halls.

RFM programs have hosted programs such as:

  • Pizza and study tips
  • Halloween pumpkin decorating
  • A petting zoo in conjunction with Audubon Zoo
  • Puzzles
  • Bubbles and water toys
